KONTRAINDIKASI

Hipersensitif terhadap komponen vaksin, atau reaksi berat terhadap dosis vaksin kombinasi sebelumnya atau bentuk-bentuk reaksi sejenis lainnya merupakan kontraindikasi absolut terhadap dosis berikutnya. Terdapat beberapa kontraindikasi terhadap dosis pertama DTP ; kejang atau gejala kelainan otak pada bayi baru lahir atau kelainan saraf serius lainnya merupakan kontraindikasi terhadap komponen pertusis. Dalam hal ini vaksin tidak boleh diber-ikan sebagai vaksin kombinasi, tetapi vaksin DT harus diberikan sebagai pengganti DTP, vaksin Hepatitis B dan Hib diber-ikan secara terpisah. Vaksin tidak akan membahayakan individu yang sedang atau sebelumnya telah terinfeksi virus hepatitis B.
